The HTCC annual student research conference gives students in community college honors programs the opportunity to present the results of their work. We invite research-based presentations and creative performances reflecting inquiry into the humanities, sciences, arts, social sciences and pre-professional programs; we also welcome results of research into the honors experience.
PRESENTATION FORMATS INCLUDE:
| 1. |
Research Poster |
Research
posters displayed in the Pacific Ballroom in the Student Center; poster creators are on-hand during designated poster presentation sessions to discuss their research with the public |
| 2. |
Individual Oral |

presentation followed by 5 minutes of discussion |
| 3. |
Small Group Oral |
20-minute panel presentation by two presenters, followed by 10 minutes of discussion |
| 4. |
Large Group Oral |
40-minute panel of three or more participants, followed by 10 minutes of discussion |
| 5. |

The Issues Forum is a special session dedicated to oral presentations on a current themed topic. This year's Issues Forum will be devoted to research presentations based on the bestseller The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks. (See Detailed Instructions Here.) |
| 6. |
Performance |
Student-created art, music,
creative writing, drama, dance
Students may present a maximum of one individual presentation or performance AND one group presentation or performance AND one poster presentation. No two presentations may be on the same topic.
PowerPoint rarely improves a small-group lecture. We urge you not to use PowerPoint to outline points; rather, use PowerPoint only if you creatively exploit its visual potential.

All HTCC Student Research Conference
activities will take place in the Conference Center that is part of the UCI Student Center. Please park in the Student Center Parking Structure (located on the corner of Pereira Dr. and West Peltason). Note that there is an $10 per vehicle
fee (for both this and ecological reasons, we highly recommend carpooling or using public transportation whenever possible). The Student Center is just across Pereira Dr. (building 113 in the red area near the top of this map). You will also see HTCC directional signs to the conference
venue from the parking area. |
